Who we are

The Kingston Church of Christ is a family of Christians in Jamaica whose members strive to reflect their love for Jesus by their love for their fellowman.

In recent years, the members of the church took the opportunity to examine the church’s doctrine and culture with great care and with a critical eye. The faults that were discovered would have been overwhelming if the church was not at the same time discovering, with greater meaning, the grace of Christ. This exercise enabled us to come closer to our goal of sincere love and purity of heart. We hope that the grace that we have embraced will be felt by those who visit our fellowship, and that they will feel the love and acceptance that Christ offers to everyone.

It remains our conviction that grace ought to lead to repentance (Titus 2:11-12). Although we are not perfect, we must strive to live holy lives, showing the evidence of God by a change of attitude and lifestyle; therefore, while remaining steadfast in our call for repentance, our doctrine now includes greater emphasis on the grace, mercy, and patience of God. Since “we are not the sugar of the earth, but the salt of it” (Quote: Sam Laing), visitors might feel challenged by the truth of our sermons and conversations, but they will also feel embraced by the love of Christ.
